  I'm curious to hear about recommendations as well. fyi, I've heard many, many times from many places that banner ads simply don't work any more. People choose appropriate (the more appropriate the better) text ads over banners.

    WEll there are two schools of thoughts about that. Banner ads offer very few clickthroughs, however like billboards by the highway, they do offer brand awareness on the internet.
    
    Others say banners don't work at all. For me they work if they are relevant to me. SO therefore for me to click on any ad, they ahve to be highly targeted to the publication itself, and frankly not a lot are.....
