Any one have any experience with FindWhat PPC?
For B2B is it a higher or lower conversion than with Overture or Google?
What kind of Metrics should be expected? Local/National? Global?

Great question...I'm very curious to hear any opinions on FindWhat.com or any similar companies.

      I'll give you an update

So far- we have had really amazing traffic, but the traffic has been of poor conversion quality (comparatively to Google Conversion rates which have been between 1.7 and 2.3%).

I'm going to see how it performs over night (most of our conversions happen after business hours) and give you updates later :)

Michael- in answer to your question- FindWhat competitors are Overture and Google and to a lesser extent- Kanoodle, mamma, and Search7.

FindWhat worked pretty well for me in that I got a really nice ROI. There wasn't a lot of volume, but because the prices were so inexpensive it made it more profitable than Google and/or Overture.

BTW, I was targeting the SOHO market.

      Scott-

Funny you should say that- I found the exact oposite!

I too was targeting SOHO, and we got a lot of traffic (522 in 24 hours) and a conversion rate of 0. That's right- not one sign up! In fact- the leads were so weak that 85% didn't even click beyond the first page- while we have a 65% click beyond the first page with Google.

When did you have this experience, Scott? Was it recently?

Luckily we put in 250- not like with Overture which burned through ten times that with poor leads and low conversions.

It was about 6 months ago, so I'm not sure what results the company is getting now from FindWhat...sorry, I should have clarified that in my first post.

Conversion is much lower than Google, and a little less than GoClick. They are really sloooow at approving ads or keywords.

    My favs:
    Google
    GoClick
    Searchfeed

      Hi Mike,

With all PPC engines you have to be very careful to check the ROI on your ad expentidures as the contextual advertising market is rife with click fraud.

Second and Third tier engines like FindWhat are especially problematic since they often have relationships with third-party "advertising partners" that are paid a portion of the CPC for refferring traffic into the network. This provides the motivation ($) for shady operators to set-up fake networks of sites and run clickbots through them to generate revenue.

Unless you're running a complete conversion tracking system that tells you the ROI for every term you're targeting via PPC you're basically trowing your money in a hole :)

In my experience Google and Overture (Yahoo Search Marketing) are somewhat better at tracking and refunding money for fraudulent clicks but you usually need to bring it to their attention before they will issue a refund. PPC fraud detection services such as www.whosclickingwho.com are useful for documenting and presenting your case to the PPC engines.

      Take Care,
      Marshall Clark
