We've had our web site out there for a little while now, and we'd like to make it better. Any suggestions for improvements? If you were a potential customer, would this site answer your questions? Is it immediately obvious what to do when you get there?

Re: Recommendations?
Wed, January 28, 2004 - 7:46 AMlooks pretty good...
seems pretty straight forward...
click on the big button, and fill out the forms.
how are you marketing it?
I haven't seen any pops, banners on sites, or emails in my inbox as they relate to your company. -

Re: Recommendations?
Wed, January 28, 2004 - 10:19 AMRight now we're just warming the site up - we haven't started the marketing yet, though we'll be going for Google Adwords, almost certainly.
Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Recommendations?
Wed, January 28, 2004 - 7:47 AMmy personal feelings?
GOOD
* white background (call me old fashioned)
* menu bar to left (ditto)
* prominent "apply now" buttons
BAD
* that photo: way too dark, not enough contrast, odd angle
* text size & weight: with all the bold and the different header sizes, it looks sloppy. my eyes are wandering all over the page. the general rule for page layout is to use two sizes: a primary text size and a header text size that's 150% of the former. bold only when necessary.
* line height: play with your css to space things out. it looks kinda garbled.
* that left menu: there's a lot of information there, and several bullets run over to the next line. consider removing some of the info or condensing topics. and edit your bullets so that they only take up one line.
* um, that "apply now" button's a little big. you might try reducing it 25%...
but then, what do i know? -

Re: Recommendations?
Wed, January 28, 2004 - 10:22 AMThanks - the photo had to go. I've standardized on large print for the H2, 10 pt for body text, and 8pt for the nav menus... should look a little cleaner!
And yeah... that button was really too big...
Thanks for the feedback! Should look a little better now...
